Self-Directed People

How do self-directed people learn AND why are they successful?

  1. Successful people are SELF MANAGING. They have clarity of purpose, they have a plan and the resources to achieve things and they draw on past experiences. These people are great athletes, great learners, great teachers who make great choices about goals, plans and strategies. They manage their own THINKING and make choices in private that set them apart.

Self Managing people engage in learning according to the;

  • IMPORTANCE of a task. If the task is important then they are usually successful with high motivation, positive feelings and high engagement.
  • SELF–EFFICACY. Belief in own skills and resources to get the job done.
  • EMOTIONS. Emotions have a powerful influence on actions and behaviour.

SELF MANAGING people have a healthy World One with healthy concepts, beliefs and emotions. Their motivation, attention and confidence are high.
